Ukraine Aid
TOOLS FOR LIFE has carried out an aid convoy to Poland to bring relief supplies to the refugee camps and to take refugees from Ukraine to Germany.
Current situation
Due to the war in Ukraine, millions of people, mainly women and children, are fleeing to the surrounding countries and are accommodated in emergency shelters - mostly under very poor conditions.
Our measures
TOOLS FOR LIFE set off for Poland on 30 March with a total of 6 men and 3 small buses. The first destination was Kreisau. There is the Foundation for European Understanding, a former HERO Award winner. There are about 100 refugees there, whom we were able to support with our relief supplies.
The second stop was directly at the Ukrainian border. In Dorohusk there is a reception point, a first reception camp for the refugees. There, the relief supplies were urgently needed and gratefully accepted.
The third and last stop was Lublin. There we stopped at two refugee shelters where the remaining relief supplies could be delivered. As the buses were now empty, 17 refugees aged 3 to 73 could be taken along.
In the meantime, they have found accommodation in flats and host families in Kelkheim and the surrounding area.
