Sponsorships Create Opportunities: Successful Vocational Training at the Don Bosco Technical School
30 young people supported, 11 successful graduates, and countless new opportunities for the future: Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, 30 students were able to complete vocational training at the Don Bosco Technical School in Thiès, Senegal, during the 2025/2026 academic year.
Education Opens the Door to a Better Future
Vocational education gives young people the opportunity to build an independent and sustainable future. In Senegal, however, many families cannot afford the costs of technical education. Through sponsorships, students are able to complete their training and gain the skills they need to secure stable employment or start their own businesses.
During the 2025/2026 academic year, 30 students benefited from the sponsorship program. They received training in high-demand technical fields, including:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanics
- Electrical Installation
- General Mechanics
These professions are highly valued in the Senegalese labor market and provide graduates with excellent opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
More Young Women Choosing Technical Careers
One of the most encouraging developments this year is the growing participation of young women in technical education. Ten of the 30 sponsored students are female, demonstrating that more women are choosing careers traditionally dominated by men.
By pursuing technical qualifications, these young women are not only improving their own future prospects but also helping to break down gender stereotypes and promote greater equality in the workplace.
Strong Academic Performance and Successful Graduates
The students achieved impressive academic results throughout the year. Seventy percent of all sponsored students earned satisfactory or higher annual results, with many receiving good, very good, or even outstanding evaluations.
An especially significant achievement was that 11 students successfully passed their final examinations and completed their vocational training, enabling them to begin their professional careers with valuable technical qualifications.
