Support for victims of the flood disaster
The floods in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia in mid-July caused extensive damage. Our sympathies go out to all those affected and their families.
At the moment, people in the flooded area are repairing the damage and supporting each other. Many helpers are also working day and night, sacrificially helping those in need. As a company-related foundation of Dr. Helmut Rothenberger Holding GmbH, the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation bundles the relief efforts of the corporate group.
Dr. Sandra Rothenberger (Chairwoman of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation): "We are shocked and horrified by the devastation of this storm disaster and want to help those affected quickly and unbureaucratically."
To facilitate the cleanup, the mud washed into the basements and first floors by the floods had to be removed quickly. This is because in a few days the mud will become hard as concrete and the cleanup would become much more difficult. To prevent this, Kroll GmbH, a company belonging to the group, sent 26 suction-flushing vehicles to the disaster area to help the emergency services and residents. During the first days of operation, they were able to pump out and remove approximately 250 tons of sludge from basements in Ahrweiler.
Rothenberger Group companies also donated 250 mobile high-pressure cleaners and 100 surface disinfection units to the flooded areas, which affected people can use to continue cleaning their homes. With 100 camping stoves and additional gas cartridges, people would be able to heat up their food in an emergency.
In addition, ROTHENBERGER has sent tools to the local companies, which have lost all their stock due to the floods, so that urgently needed tools are available for reconstruction. Through the direct cooperation with SHK companies as well as with the organization "Heating engineers with a passion", the tools are distributed directly to those affected.
On a personal level, the employees of the ROTHENBERGER Group have collected 8000 euros, which can be put to good use for a sales representative and his family in this time of need. The basement and the entire first floor of the family home were under water.
We help to connect, we stick together and we thank everyone for their help!
