HERO Day of the HERO 2020

On 16.06.2021 the 7th HERO-Day took place. During the event, the winner of the HERO Award 2020, the non-profit association Anyievo, which supports the village of Ekpui in Togo, was ceremonially awarded . In addition to the promotion of school and kindergarten children, the main focus is on the professional training of the inhabitants.

The event started with a welcome speech by Mr. Diehl, CFO of ROTHENBERGER AG. Afterwards, Dr. Rothenberger also welcomed the members of Anyievo and thanked them for their commitment.

Ms. Wycisk, chairwoman of the Anyievo association, presented the beginnings and successes of the association in a presentation. In addition to a teaching room and a sewing shop, the construction of a mill and a water tower, among other things, has been realized.

With the prize money of 7,000 €, the association is carrying out a project in the WASH sector (water, sanitation and hygiene). 1000 water containers, each with a capacity of 60 liters plus liquid soap, were purchased and the inhabitants were taught hygiene. With regard to diseases such as Covid 19 but also other diseases such as cholera.

The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation will support the HERO 2020 Anyievo-Ekpui/Togo e.V. also in future projects.
