HERO Award 2025 Ceremony at Leistritz in Nuremberg.
On June 17, 2026, the HERO Award 2025 of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation was presented during a ceremonial event at Leistritz in Nuremberg. The event brought together supporters, project partners, and dedicated employees to honor outstanding social commitment.
A strong commitment to social impact
HERO Day 2026 of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation was dedicated to commitment, responsibility, and sustainable impact. Held at Leistritz in Nuremberg, the event brought together guests, supporters, and project partners to celebrate the ceremonial presentation of the HERO Award 2025.
Following the welcome by Mr. Everts, CEO of Leistritz, and the opening remarks by Dr. Sandra Rothenberger, the audience gained insights into the global project work of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation. Since 2014, the HERO Award has recognized initiatives that drive sustainable change and create better opportunities in education and living conditions.
Winner Project 2025: Clever Kids Homework Centre
The HERO Award 2025 was presented to the Clever Kids Homework Centre in Masiphumelele, South Africa. The award was accepted on behalf of the project by Ms. Tauer.
The project currently supports around 75 children and young people on their educational journey, providing comprehensive support in their daily lives. This includes not only academic assistance but also the provision of learning materials, school uniforms, and daily meals. For many children, these meals are the most important of the day and a crucial foundation for their ability to learn and develop.
In addition, the support enables the project to welcome new children into the program and offer them long-term perspectives—from their very first steps in learning through to school graduation. Especially for children facing challenging life circumstances, the program provides stability, a sense of belonging, and new opportunities for the future.
Moving insights from South Africa
One of the most emotional moments of the day was the personal video message from Karin Drescher, founder of the Clever Kids Homework Centre, live from Masiphumelele. She gave powerful insights into the daily work on site and highlighted how vital the support is for the children and their families.
The ceremonial presentation of the HERO Award and the donation check marked the highlight of the event and honored the exceptional dedication of the entire project team.
Sustainable support through sponsorships
A key element of the Clever Kids approach is its sponsorship program. It allows supporters to build a personal connection with a child and accompany their development over the long term. In addition to regular contributions, sponsors receive updates on the children’s progress and—if desired—can establish direct contact.
Closing and Networking
During the informal closing over coffee and cake, guests had the opportunity to deepen conversations, connect with one another, and exchange ideas on sustainable engagement.
The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation would like to thank all supporters and partners who make this work possible and contribute every day to making the world a better place.
